On Friday, 16 October, the RoRo ferry AKRANES was delivered to Smyril Line. AKRANES is the second of two RoRo ferries built for Smyril Line by the Chinese shipyard Yantai CIMC Raffles Offshore.

AKRANES was originally scheduled for delivery earlier this year, but delivery was postponed due to a fault with the shaft generator that occurred during sea trials. The vessel was not delivered until the fault had been rectified.

AKRANES is expected to depart China during week 43.
