Over the next three months, the Spanish shipping company Baleària will refurbish three former Naviera Armas ferries that it took over earlier this year. These are the two fast ferries VOLCÁN DE TAIDÍA and VOLCÁN DE TAGORO, as well as the conventional ferry VOLCÁN DE TINAMAR. The refurbishment is part of a €45 million investment plan that the company intends to allocate over the next three years to modernise its fleet in the Canary Islands.
The two fast ferries VOLCÁN DE TAIDÍA and VOLCÁN DE TAGORO, which operate on the route between Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and Morro Jable, will have their passenger areas refurbished and will be repainted in Baleària Canarias’ livery. The first ferry will go to the shipyard in mid-November, with the second following in December.
The conventional ferry VOLCÁN DE TINAMAR, which sails between Cádiz and the Canary Islands, will be refurbished while remaining in service. The first work on the ferry was already carried out this summer.
The refurbishment of the three ferries will bring them up to the same standard and quality as the company’s own ferries.
