Moby Lines and Ichnusa Lines will continue operating the ferry route between Santa Teresa di Gallura in Sardinia and Bonifacio in Corsica for another year, following the renewal of their operating authorisation by the Sardinian regional authorities.

The decision follows an unsuccessful call for expressions of interest launched in June, to which no other operators responded. The two companies will continue to operate the route using Moby Lines’ BUNIFAZZIU and Ichnusa Lines’ ICHNUSA.

The renewed agreement covers the 2026–2027 period, with financial compensation provided for the winter season from 1 November 2026 to 31 March 2027. A total of 1,208 sailings are planned during this period, each attracting compensation of €738.41 plus VAT. Moby will operate 608 sailings and receive €493,849 including VAT, while Ichnusa Lines will operate 600 sailings and receive €487,351.

The two operators will follow a relay schedule during the winter season. Moby Lines will operate four departures in each direction daily from 1 November to 15 January, before Ichnusa Lines takes over the same service from 16 January to 31 March.

After the compensated winter period, both ferries will operate simultaneously during the summer season, providing six return sailings per day in total, increasing to seven during the peak period from 28 June to 13 September, with additional sailings on public holidays.
