Arab Bridge Maritime Company has recorded its highest-ever profit, exceeding $40 million in the first nine months of 2026, as Egypt, Jordan and Iraq backed an expansion of the regional ferry operator’s fleet and network.

The results were presented at the company’s 88th General Assembly meeting, attended by senior transport officials from the three shareholder countries. Director General Adnan Al-Abadleh said the company had also reached record levels in revenue, assets, capital and equity, while the number of trucks transported increased by 15%. Passenger traffic continued to grow as well.

The strong financial performance is expected to support further fleet renewal, new routes and investment in maritime infrastructure and services. The company has recently added the AL JISR, capable of carrying 85 trucks and 254 passengers, and the fast ferry ASHUR, with capacity for 312 passengers. A further passenger-and-cargo vessel capable of carrying 110 trucks and 253 passengers is also being added, taking the fleet to 11 vessels.

Arab Bridge Maritime is preparing to launch the Safaga–Duba service, linking Egypt and Saudi Arabia and providing an additional route for passengers, trucks and cargo.

The company also plans to expand beyond ferry operations in 2027, with projects including a boat maintenance and repair facility in Sharm El-Sheikh and the development and operation of the passenger terminal at Aqaba Port in partnership with Aqaba Development Corporation.

Egyptian Transport Minister Kamel El Wazir welcomed the results and the company’s fleet-modernisation programme, saying larger vessels and additional routes would improve the regularity and capacity of services. Jordan and Iraq likewise highlighted the expansion as evidence of the joint venture’s growing role in connecting the Levant with North Africa.

Arab Bridge Maritime is also increasing its use of digital technology to improve operational efficiency and services for passengers and freight customers.
